Not sure how many of you have had a chance to visit this place, but after hearing about it on a podcast, I had to check it out. I was like a kid in a candy store. I'll take you along the best I can with a few pictures from my trip:

I wish I could have turkey statues, stained glass windows depicting turkeys, and tail fan inlays into the entrances of my house.

There's lots of cool exhibits right when you get into the museum about the history of turkeys in Native American culture and general turkey biology stuff:

Then how turkeys were hunted to almost extinction...

And then how a lot of work has gone into the successful turkey numbers we enjoy today!

The really cool part to me was seeing all the calls, there were A LOT of calls from beginning to modern day. Lots of Lynch stuff, etc.

There were also a ton of decorative calls that have one prizes over the years at the NWTF Convention. There were some straight-up works of art that make sweet turkey music in there.

And what turkey hunting museum would be complete without a section devoted to Col. Tom Kelley. There was a nice exhibit about him and his life as a forester and then author, and his turkey hunting.

If you ever get the chance to go, it's worth it. free for NWTF members, and $5 otherwise. There is also a Palmetto Shooting Club (NWTF) close by to make a day out of it.

Nope. That would have been cool though.

Been trying to get up there and shoot Palmetto since it opened. I'll get around to it eventually.

Thanks for posting!

Very cool

Very cool. I enjoyed seeing the design in the hardwood floor.

Very cool! Wife and I went up there last February during the convention. We had the whole place ourselves entire time. It was awesome! Did they have Tom Kelly’s office exhibit up yet? It was in the process when we were there.

NWTF headquarters is a nice facility and a real asset to the Edgefield community. One of my leases is about 10 minutes from there.

I been working in SC for almost a year and ain’t seen a turkey yet. See them in NC,TN,VA, and GA and to my surprise seen more in FL than any where else.
