Man, I'm sorry to hear that you probably got a floating empty ice bag caught around your lower unit and it caused your outboard to blow up due to blocked water intakes. A fisherman I was fishing with in Florida, who was an insurance salesman, had that happen to him and his boat insurance repaired his motor. HTH

The compressor on my new to me merc blew back in may. Total bill for compressor work was just short of $1400. After reading this thread, i went by and checked with state farm about filing a claim. Got a statement from mechanic, copy of bill and even took them the part (at their request). Was just told by adjuster that that was a mechanical failure and not covered by my policy. Oh well.

The harder I practice, the luckier I get.

Just got off the phone with the adjuster, he said whoever the claims lady was that told me Progressive would cover everything but my deductible and the part that malfunctioned was wrong. I gave him her name and he was going to report her to management. Still doesn't help the case that I could have been out $330 labor. Thanks to Ken Hollis at Airport Marine, he said he would trade me the motor for the labor. I know he can sell the prop for $330 and get his money plus whatever else he can sell off the motor. But at least I'm not out any $$$ for labor and what the heck am I going to do with a blown motor anyway so I figured it was a decent swap.

So if y'all see a guy fishing out of a white and red basscat saber with no motor at Oak Mountain or Bibb county lake that will be me smile

I plan on trying to sell this boat to someone that has a motor and needs a good boat to put it on and in the spring buying another boat.

Well, it now appears that the Basscat may run the river again by this weekend. Thank you to Klay, who doesn't know me and had never talked to me before last week, for talking with me and helping me make decisions based off his expertise. I'm getting a 175 powerhead installed on the Cat.

Good deal. I know how sickening it is when you really enjoy something then it all blows up. I’m glad you’re gonna be back on the water soon.

Great news!!

I firmly believe that a double gallows should be constructed on the East Lawn of The White House. Politicians who willfully and shamelessly violate their oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America should be swiftly tried and, upon conviction, publicly hanged at sunup the day after conviction. If multiple convicts are to be hanged they can choose with whom to share the gallows or names shall be drawn from the hangman's hat to be hanged 2 at a time.
