TPD is using money from (presumably anti-gun) donors to "buy back" guns tomorrow. They say they'll give up to $200 depending on the gun and its condition, in an effort to "get guns off the street and out of criminals' hands".

I'm sure criminals will be jumping at the chance to go to the police station and sell their gun to a cop for less than its average street value.

Crimestoppers had a gun by back last month in Montgomery. They were giving $50 for any working pistol, shotgun or rifle. They ran out of money and closed the doors early.
