seems like this is becoming a weekly thing lately.... Up to 100,000 gallons of sewage discharged into Point Clear CreekPosted: Jul 18, 2019 / 08:50 AM CDT NEW BREAKING NEWS FAIRHOPE, Ala. (WKRG) — According to a report received yesterday from the City of Fairhope Utilities, a lift station overflowed at 6335 Twin Beach Road in Fairhope, which resulted in 75,000 to 100,000 gallons of sewage being discharged into Point Clear Creek. The health department urges residents to exercise caution if using these water bodies for recreational purposes. Also, thoroughly cook any fish or seafood caught nearby and wash hands after handling fish or seafood.

And people wonder why we have flesh eating bacteria... Maybe some of these environmentalist groups, as well as local/state/federal governments, should spend slightly less time and money trying to protect some beach mouse or some obscure salamander only found in 1 small creek in the entire world, and focus a little more on making sure we don't accidentally dump 100's of 1000's of gallons of raw sewage in our waterways.

They failed to buy a permit from ADEM. Had they bought the appropriate permit this would never make the news. Just buy the permits and pollute all you want.
My opinions and comments are my own. They do not reflect the position or political opinions of Aldeer or any of the Aldeer administration.

There's a hearing tonight in Tuscaloosa on whether a coal mine in Tuscaloosa will get a permit for discharging wastewater into a bunch of creeks near the black warrior. All too common in this great state where one of our best natural resources is our abundant fresh water in the form of rivers and lakes. And we allow business to run roughshod all over it because of a dollar. Human waste, treated coal mining water, whatever that bullcrap 3M has leaking into the Tennessee, from corner to corner this state is being polluted and we are allowing it.

There’s also millions of tons of coal ash sitting in a catch pond in North Mobile County that is leaking into the local water system and the Mobile river. When the power company built it they didn’t properly line it so the cleanup will cost them millions of dollars. But somehow they have gotten a pass to clean it up for now. The story should be in the Mobile Lagniappe paper a few weeks ago.

Hell Atlanta's been dumping sewage into the 'Hooch for years. Yep... I was talking to one of our guys at one of the power plants over there and when they dump sewage in the Chattahoochee River he said it stinks so bad at the plant that you can't hardly go outside. He said they have been doing it for years. He said they just pay the fines, because it cheaper for them to do that than treat the sewage. "Wait a minute!" you say "I thought liberals were all about saving the planet?" So much for Atlanta's liberal government "doing the right thing."

Its amazing what comes down the Hooch. After a big rain in Atlanta, there are hundreds of balls(all sizes and types, volley, basketballs) and thousands of tennis balls washing down to West Point.

I guess it's good fertilizer for all the farmers who irrigate out of it.
