I kinda thought that was a well known fact. 😲

I find it interesting that all the space race stuff in the 60’s and America is still the only country to put men on the moon. flag

There was another actor who played bigfoot in another episode of the six million dollar man. He was Ted Cassidy who played Lurch from the Addams Family.

I would imagine that your body would freeze. There's nothing in space to decompose the body.

It really is amazing that man was able to achieve this given the physical requirements to safely push a manned projectile to the moon, land on it, and push it back to earth where it had to survive entering earth's atmosphere. It certainly takes courage for anyone going into space because it is an inherently dangerous event where mechanical failure means death. The scientists and engineers in the Apollo era were some of the brightest we've ever had. Today, our technical learning institutions have been dumbed down for the sake of political correctness and ensuring that the least intelligent among us can get through. I am skeptical that we have the education quality and intellectual talent available now to safely try something like this again.

It's because we are the only ones willing to waste trillions of dollars for absolutely no reason.

I find it interesting that it was done in such a flimsy craft. It’s particularly interesting that we haven’t been back.

Only $150 billion in today’s money. Heck, that’s only 3x the annual foreign aid budget.

it didn't go terribly wrong. but some things did go wrong if you look closely. for one, the studio lights cast a diferent shadow on the american flag. they used the same mountain scene for every session. and finally they forgot to cover the moon lander with the dust that wouldv'e been stirred up without any moisture being present.

Dust does not settle on anything in that low gravity environment.

This thread is making me wonder if maybe taking medical advice from aldeer is a bad idea.

And this.

I saw a tv documentary on the possibility of it being fake. It was interesting for sure. They had issues with the way they moved their bodies when walking as well as their foot prints and landing gear prints too if i recall correctly. A few other issues they mentioned. It was interesting.

people will believe a big lie sooner than a little one; and if you repeat it frequently enough people will sooner or later believe it.
people believe we went to the moon when our technology was so far behind that a computer taking up the space of a whole room was less powerful than a handheld calculator today, we had 3 channels on TV and that cut off at midnight. over the course of 60 years no one has been back. this was also staged during the Vietnam war and the height of the cold war to give us a false sense of security, if we can put a man on the moon russia wouldnt stand a chance against our missiles.

So if the moon landing didn’t happen then Nixon prepared that speech in case they blew up the landing module in the studio and Buzz and Neal were stranded in there ??

mutiple things could go wrong between the time they launched until their module splashed down in the ocean being stranded on the moon makes a good story.

Not to pick nits here, but we actually "went back" several times since then. There was Apollo 11, 12, 14, 15, 16 & 17. So we've landed men on the Moon 6 times in all.

Once you send 6 teams there and find nothing but some rocks, I think we can say that at the time we saw all we wanted to see. So that's why we haven't been back. It just didn't make sense to continue going back.

Of course now that has changed with the prospect of visiting Mars which is much greater distance from Earth, now we will be going back to the Moon with the idea of making it a permanent base from which we launch future space explorations. Sort of like back hundreds of years ago, and until recent history, how we used to stake our claim to remote islands in the Pacific to be used a forward bases for our ships and aircraft.

Oh... and by the way the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter has taken photographs of the landing site of the original Apollo 11 Mission from the Moon's orbit.

Just rub a little hemp oil on the lander. Good to go.
