He said the house is 1250 square feet. Sounds like he means the sq footage of the house itself. Roof will be a little more. It has a low pitched roof but it looks like at least a 2' overhang. Without trying to do the math from a picture, I'm thinking between 14 and 15.5 sq.

Insurance companies will only pay about 230 for 3 tab. That's a 4/12 hip roof, low to the ground. They won't pay any upcharge. Shingles will cost you $80 per square that leaves about 75 to tear ioff and dump and 75 to nail on. That's assuming it's one layer. If it's 2 layers add about $15 if you go dimensional add about 15.

We paid right st 5k for one of similar size 2 years ago. Dimensional shingles and a 30yr warranty. Roof came off and new one on in one day.

thats ridiculously high when I used to roof a tear off and install was $175 per 100 sqft give or take depending on 3 tab or architectural shingles so assuming it may be $250 per square today its a $4,500 job. and thats on the high end
