Why does it have circle specs in it Tennesse river valley chert often has those micro-fossils embedded in it. This thing was found in the Tallapoosa River valley near Wetumpka. I see this kind of thing all the time.

he didnt find that on that on the Tallapoosa river, and it looks like it was made within the last two weeks. Educate us a little on why you say that. What are you seeing, or not seeing?

Ok, so now I am able to look at the pics on a real monitor today, not a cell screen. It could be real but its odd. The material is out of place for the Tallapoosa but that is not unheard of. The flaking pattern is wrong for the shape of the point. It could be an older point that was re-worked at some time well after it was made..
Thats a nice Turkey Tail in that other pic.
PCP, thats a real one, and that material always makes for some odd points because it does not flake well at all. Its a real low grade chert that is found near Anniston.south towards Cheaha.

Thanks Skinny. I have no idea how my dad came to be in possession of it. He probably told me and I forgot about it.

Seeding an area is not unknown. Guilty. My head hunting buddy and I still laugh over that fact that I got him. It was my last trip with him before I moved to Alabama. I wanted it to be a memorial one.

I have two at home that were made from white quartz. Found in Tallapoosa, GA on a finger overlooking a creek. Very odd looking too from all my other ones I have. Most of the points found in Central Alabama are white Quartz. Most common by far. It is a hard material to work with so the points usually look rough, or rougher than other material.
Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.
