My wife had one when we got married. What a steaming pile.

Sig Sauer, to hell and back reliable.

Whatever suits you just tickles me plum to death.

Can I refill your eggnog for you? Get you something to eat? Drive you out to the middle of nowhere and leave you for dead?

I remember bubble gum and other individually wrapped candy being 2 for a penny. 26 cents would buy a Coke in a returnable bottle AND either a bag of tater chips or a candy bar. Return the bottle for a nickle meaning that it was actually 21 cents.

I remember my father raising mortal hell one day because when he paid for $2.00 gas he only got 5 point something gallons instead of at least 6 gallons. That would have been around 1973. Gas prices had jumped 4 or 5 cents overnight.

When I was about 6 years old there was a service station about a 1/4 mile up the road that kept their return for deposit bottles around at the side of the building. I walked up there one day with a couple of older boys that lived nearby. As we came up the trail around the side, we all grabbed a few bottles and carried them to the counter inside. The man paid us for the bottles and we turned around and bought drinks out of the machine out front. I didn't realize I was stealing until Mom explained it to me. I don't remember getting in trouble and I think Mom or Dad went and paid the man for the bottles. Whew, no criminal record for me.

Speaking of bottled drinks, the absolute best was at a now long closed cattle feed “store”. The glass bottles of Dr. Pepper would be so cold they would have ice crystals in them. Oh how I’ll never forget the taste of one on a hot summer day.

Yep, haven't thought of those in years. Wasn't there a plaid stamp too? I know there's a bunch on here that haven't a clue what we're talking about.

Yes, there was a plaid stamp. I remember SAN-ANN stamps too. It used to be that every town of any size had a S&H Green Stamp redemption center.

Remember Ice houses? Most sizable towns had one of those too.

I do miss the America of my youth. Although I would hate to give up AC.

I had a 68 with the wiper pedal but it didn't have the bench seat.

I bought my first brand new car in 1967- a 1967 Austin Healy Sprite. I paid a total of $2000 cash with the money I made that summer working 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM for $1.90 an hour. I was so tired after every shift, I’d shower, cook myself breakfast and sleep for 10 hours. I didn’t spend a penny from my summer job and bought the car before I returned to college for my Junior year. I used it to take my future wife on our first date to see “The Graduate” with Dustin Hoffman. That was 52 years ago.

I had every Evil Kenevil toy made. He's responsible for my first 7 or 8 broken bones.

My moma bought us kids Christmas with Green stamps. 16 ounce coke was a quarter. Gas was less than a dollar a gallon. Mama sewed our clothes and us kids spent all summer dealing with vegetables. We would spread a tarp on the living my room floor and shell peas and butter beans for a week. We weren’t really poor that’s just how people lived.

It goes back to the conditions they were raised in. They didn’t have shucks. My great grandmother washed and reused tin foil and plastic bags til she died.
