Im thinking of installing one. any recommendations I dont want to pay a monitoring service thinking i just need 3 door sensors 1 or 2 motion detectors and an extremely loud alarm horn to mount under the eve of the house. Id rather have the loud alarm than monitoring. ADT takes 3-4 minutes to even call and ask if its a false alarm before alerting the police then the police have a response time to figure in. A good thief can rob you blind before ADT even dials your number. anyone gone this route? any brands to look into? dont care for cameras or wifi just plane old loud siren alarm if the doors open or anything moves inside.

Buy a used (or new) Simplisafe alarm system on eBay and you can use it either way.... with or without the $15 a month monitoring service.

I bought a used one and am well pleased.

I have eight Zmodo outdoor camera's from eBay also and I am more than pleased with them.

How do those outdoor cameras work? Do they have to be hardwired, or do they transmit via WIFI? And do the cameras have to have 120 volts to them, or battery operated?

I’ve seen the package deals you can buy at Sam’s that come with a DVR and a bunch of cameras. I’m thinking about adding a system at my house, but not real sure what to get.

My eight camera's are wifi and 5 volt I think, the little transformers plug into 120v. outlets that we ran inside my eaves to all the camera's.

Wyze cams with some sensors.

When my front door opens it triggers 3 cameras.

Only downside is that the cameras have to be powered but there are 20' cables.

I don't have door or window sensors but the Blink cameras that I have send me alerts and a video clip, at just about precisely the1 minute mark, on ANY detected movement within their detection area. 100% wireless. Cameras run up to 2 years on 2 lithium AA batteries. Microphone and speaker so you can hear and respond if you want to any person or thing that triggers the cameras. Night vision is decent too and when the motion lights come on, it's excellent. 5 cameras and 2 synch modules (one module held as spare and not in use) and I have about 110 foot range from my router for $400 and money well spent as far as I'm concerned. No monthly fees and plenty of free cloud storage.

I firmly believe that a double gallows should be constructed on the East Lawn of The White House. Politicians who willfully and shamelessly violate their oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America should be swiftly tried and, upon conviction, publicly hanged at sunup the day after conviction. If multiple convicts are to be hanged they can choose with whom to share the gallows or names shall be drawn from the hangman's hat to be hanged 2 at a time.

Ive had my simplisafe for about 4 years now and its been trouble free. Other than having to change batteries once a year havent had to touch it. Notifications go to my phone, install is plain and simple.

Works good to catch Jody sliding by while you at work thumbup lol, had a former coworker catch his ole lady letting the neighbor in after he left for work damn near everyday then leave about 2 hours later. He told me the worst part was he knew they were fooling around but doing what for 2 hours cuz he couldn’t last more than 10 minutes.

Felt pretty bad for the poor bastard

Another vote for SimpliSafe. If I can install then anybody can. Have it at home, office and farm. Works great

ive been checking out the simplisafe best buy has a sale on them right now looks like it comes with everything i need minus the auxiliary horn to mount on the eve says they sell one separate to go with it I want it to sound like a banks getting robbed if it goes off. think i will give them a shot. also dont see motion sensors but im thinking it has enough door sensors I can put one on the bedroom doors and closet my safe is in probably be just as good.
