If its just for a day or two don't spend the money on the Rtic, Yeti, Orca but if you plan on a trip for a week of so then invest in one of these ive mentioned. I have an Rtic that kept 40 lbs of Conecuh sausage and other goods frozen solid for more than a week with a little dry ice

I have an RTIC and it works fine. It starts out much cheaper than the rest, and they run sales every single opportunity it seems. (Fathers Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, etc.). It's about the most I would pay for a "premium" cooler. I don't like that it's made in China, but dang it's just a plastic box at the end of the day, seems like China can at least get that right the majority of the time

I've got an RTIC 65 and a couple Coleman / Igloo types. The RTIC rarely gets used unless it's for an extended time period. It's too damn heavy to deal with unless I have to.

I figured the 4th of July sales would be a good time of year to look for one.

I bought an Orca and really like it a bunch.

Those two are close to the size you are wanting.

I have a few Yetis, one RTIC bag cooler and a small Ozark Trail bag cooler.

For the money the OT is hard to beat. When I bought my Yetis there weren’t nearly as many cooler companies as today.

Side note: cooler or ice chest. I guess it depends on what part of the country you came from. The strangest thing I’ve heard them called was a “cool box” in Africa.

when it has to spend 3 or 4 days out in the sun on a boat or in the woods its worth it. a Coleman cant keep ice for 5 hours in the sun on a 95° day my orca will keep ice for 5 or 6 days. I also bought mine near half price when Yeti had their falling out with the NRA alot of brands ran good promos to attract business

I have a Ozark Trail marine cooler. A large bag of ice lasts all day to keep beverages and bait cold and then I put my fish in it for the trip home. I glued a plastic cutting board on top to cut bait on as well.

If you’re looking for premium coolers check out Pelican. I have a few Yetis and RTICs and can’t tell the difference between them. My buddy picked up the Pelican a few years ago and it works better. You’ll learn with any of these multi day ice coolers you’re supposed to pre-chill the cooler and only fill it roughly 40% with stuff then the rest of the way with ice. That pelican can go 50% and the pre-chill is much faster.

I think any of the premium ice chests these days are pretty dang good at holding ice. I've used Yetis, RTICs even Ozark trails and they all seem to perform about the same. Like said, The weight is the thing I don't like about them but I use them on these hot summer days because you can put a lot of fish in the box and still get and keep them cold. My cheaper 150 qt igloos just can't keep up with the big RTIC I have in that respect. It just takes two men and a small boy to tote the durn thing! One other thing that I have noticed, thieves seem to prefer the YETI's over all others.

I bought one of the Truck Gear coolers from LIne X. It's been comparable to my buddies yeti, at about half the price, and comes with the extras like cup holders, dividers and rack that the other charge for

I know I did some testing with the Wal Mart Ozark Trail insulated tumblers vs the Yeti's and it was a negligible difference. I found the Ozark Trail 26 quart ice chest for about $92, that might be as big as I need., still looking tho.

I look at a rotomolded cooler as a one and done, assuming it isn’t stolen. No cheap hinges to rot and break, walls won’t seperate if left outside (had a few igloos do this) , nothing to rust, etc. To me this justifies the price on most. Like a lot here, I’ve got a 20qt Orca and a Rtic 45. Both have served me well so far.

I live out of YETI 65 quart every week because I’d rather spend my travel money on a nice hotel instead of a restaurant. Plus I usually have access to free ice from the facilities office that I’m working with. Even with that it’s still worth it. But like Simpleman said it’s damn heavy. When you buy nice you won’t buy twice.
