Thanks man I figured you may have insight. Hope your cousin is gonna be ok

I can get you the name and number of the local account manager if you want to give him a shout.

Cousin is going to be fine, he tried to drive a dirt bike through a tree at a high rate of speed. Broke both wrists, an arm and a leg. Lucky to be alive and looked like it for a few days.

As I posted above, they have a branch in Demopolis according to their website.

The website has a page to sign up for membership.

Any body know one that operates out of Montgomery towards east ala. I've looked around and don't see one that c!ose. Seeing as how I've had one scrambled for me twice in the last 3 months it might be something I need to get signed up for.

Hey Matt...you should do it especially if youre travelling out west. You never know.

One of our cameramen was filming at high attitude and started bleeding from the mouth and nose. Some dang attitude thing. They helicoptered him out. It cost a fortune.

Also much as you drive and the out of the way areas..its insurance. You never NEED it..until you NEED it.

If its affordable Id do it bud!

You don't need a 60K bill for a 20 minute ride!

That’s correct! The thing is you don’t get to choose if you get to ride in a chopper or not, if your accident or situation meet certain criteria, the weather is ok, and they have one available you are taking a flight. The first responders make that call for you in life or death situations.

A coworker of my wife, her husband was med flighted and their BCBS only covered a fraction. She owed well over 25000. A few weeks later I flipped at 4 wheeler on a steep fire lane and all I could think is they will call for medflight cause of type of accident I had. I was able to barely walk out, we had coverage by the next week.

I got flown in July 2014 from the Lottie community to Mobile following a motorcycle wreck. I was conscious, walking around on a broken leg (Dr didn't find that until I'd been in USA for 2.5 days) and wasn't in cardiac arrest or bleeding badly.

Bill was $37,500 and some change. Insurance was NOT going to pay it to start with. I about stroked out. Local rescue squad guru got to make the call to send me that way. He'll, they had to hire an ambulance to move me 1/4 mile to where the bird could land ($800). It's a hard moral dilemma to find out you're mad at the people who came to "rescue" you. I was though.

Two weeks later I'm sitting on the couch perusing the internet. I see a story where the same air ambulance service was delivering the "game ball" to the opening football game at JU Blacksher HS in Uriah (yeah, right, WHERE?).

Who paid for THAT flight? It's a racket imho.
