Anyone ever been? Recommendations? We are going on an Alaskan cruise in July and I want to take my dad fishing. We can go through the cruise line for $259 each for a 3.5 hour trip. There are several outfitters/captains online. The one and only google search I looked at doing on my own was a 6 hour trip for $750 or 8 hour for $1000 up to 4 guys. I would rather do the longer trip without going through the cruise lines. Any advice would be greatly appreciated

I’d recommend booking your own for sure and not going through the cruise line.
I’ll make a call or two for you Monday and see what I can find. I know some guys that have fished there.

Fish in one of the other ports, Juneau or Scagway. Victoria was a very nice city to sight see and earn points with you wife. It has a cool little (about a block or two) Chinese section good eats. Nice scenery and a museum that was cool. Some of our crowd went to some fancy gardens that they loved. I enjoyed walking around the harbor and seal watching.
Scagway has jeep rentals with Green Jeeps that you can keep all day and go well over into the Yukon. That was fun. My brother went fishing while in Juneau and had fun. I wanted to go Halibut fishing, but he wanted to fly inland and fly fish. I wouldn't get on one of those little planes so I sight saw and shopped with my wife and daughter instead. It was actually a fun day. The rest of my crew went whale watching that day.
Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

Fish in one of the other ports, Juneau or Scagway. Can't do that...already have whale watching, zip lining, and helicopter sled dog glacier tours in those other stops.
