Does this rub you the wrong way? Walmart has started a new advertising campaign in which they are claiming they are supporting AMERICAN JOBS. I guess they are somewhat, but it's because they were sort of forced into it. Walmart is more two faced than the average politician. They need to change the name of the stores to Hillary inc. I know some of you are old enough to recall, back when Walmart got their start they actually did sell mostly American made goods. For about the last 15 or 20 years though, it's been hard to find anything American made there except for groceries. More and more of the groceries aren't American either.

American Jobs

I remember when Sam started Walmart. His cornerstone was American Made products at affordable prices. I actually met the man once. He was a good guy. It's a shame his kids are greedy worthless liberals.

Based on his biography that I read, he wouldn't recognize, nor approve of, the modern version.

Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

Worked in the industry (not Walmart) and new Sam personally he would absolutely have a fit if he saw the operation now. Was a man that wanted to help those that were trying to help themselves. Today’s Walmart demands their price points and will literally put you out of business trying to supply them.

Wal-Mart is no different than any other large retailer but they are the biggest so they take their share of blame. When you get down to it, they are actually an American success story.

So I'm the only one that is irritated by this new campaign.

No, I'm irritated by Walmart in general.

I can't stand to have to go to the one in Ft. Payne., but it's better than going to the one in Roebuck. Both of those are sort of opposite ends of the cultural spectrum.

I can’t stand the original one in Cullman as you start out the door they ask to see your receipt. I’m like I just checked out 50’ over there and now you want to go through my bags. I actually got online and complained to corporate about it. Had the district manager call me and tell me it was because of the high volume of theft in the store. I told him it will piss a paying customer off when you don’t have hardly any registers open and then you want to hold me up at the door. I got online and read others complaints about and started doing like they said. Simply say no thank you when they ask and they won’t say another word. On another note I was at the Guntersville store and they had a backlog of people waiting. They had a girl there with a small sign to direct you to registers as they opened up. I told her I’m pretty good at managing manpower and that it would make more sense for her to simply go open another register and that would increase the flow of customers getting out of the store. And the dress code now would make Mr Sam puke if he saw the purple hair, nose, lip and eye brow rings. And just unkept appearance and uncleanliness of the associates.

From what I have been hearing Walmart is trying to get back to the way Sam was running Walmart. Give me a Walmart and tractor supply, only two stores I like.

The lack of cashiers is Walmart's attempt to force you to use self checkout. Which I refuse to do.

What this is all about I believe is a Public Relations campaign. Bernie Sanders I think went to Wal-Mart's corporate meeting, I assume as a stockholder of the company, and told them they were paying their store workers basically prison wages.

Which they are. I'm not sure what to think about that though. There was a time when people didn't strive to work at Wal-Mart and actually picked up a hammer and went to work and built something... or owned their own hardware store or supply house, etc.........

Only thing is.... Wal-Mart put at least a bunch of those out of business. The stores and the handyman that use to fix the HVAC unit on the 30 retail stores around the town square.... all the way down the line. All gone.

Nothing is a singular issue like we want to believe it is. I know this... we are not living in an era of prosperity for the average American. The average American is not well educated although they likely have a junior college degree they overpaid for.... and are working a low wage job just getting by.

No government employees were harmed in the making of this mess.

I've been to Walmart twice in the past 10 months.
Once in October, and once last week. Both times there was a particular item I needed.
I went straight to that item, and straight up to the checkout, and away as fast as possible.
I'll go to 5 different places, buying our usual household items, just to avoid Walmart.
