I've not watched it yet, but my palms have gotten sweaty just reading about it. Reckon that guy is still alive 10yrs from now? I say probably not.

So this is the guy that free climbed ElCapitan solo? I saw that a while back. The guy is so one track minded that nothing or nobody else seems to matter. Gotta go climb that rock. His complete lack of emotion or attachment (to even his girlfriend) was extremely interesting to me. And also kind of sad.

His complete lack of emotion or attachment (to even his girlfriend) was extremely interesting to me. And also kind of sad. They scanned his brain. That part of his brain doesn’t work...literally.

I havnt seen this yet but I saw a documentary about him a couple months ago where he spent something like a month on the side of a cliff sleeping in a tent and climbing it was awesome and he is very talented. Maybe a tad crazy...he wasn't even the main guy his climbing partner is a better climber the dawn wall is name on netflix

It's a great movie.

I have had the opportunity to do some rock climbing when I was getting trained as a scout leader, and was also trying hard during that time in my life to tackle the things that scared me the most, some good, some not. That is said to say this. I am aware of the feeling of thinking you have a hand or foot hold on a rock face about 300 feet up and slip and even though you know you are tied in, that spit second is scary as the devil. I cannot imagine doing El Cap free climb. I will be SURE to watch this soon. Thanks!!
