I don't have a fire extinguisher on my personal truck.
But trust me it wouldn't have made any difference today.

That fire was karma for getting on that old lady with the walker and one glass eye at the gas pump yesterday laugh

I firmly believe that a double gallows should be constructed on the East Lawn of The White House. Politicians who willfully and shamelessly violate their oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America should be swiftly tried and, upon conviction, publicly hanged at sunup the day after conviction. If multiple convicts are to be hanged they can choose with whom to share the gallows or names shall be drawn from the hangman's hat to be hanged 2 at a time.

Good to have a VFD around when you need em.

I was talking to a friend of mine a couple of hours ago that is the head man for the State of Florida in the wildfire crew in the Panama City area. With the thousands of acres of hurricane blown dead pines in Bay and the other areas he said they know it isn't if it is when the next big wildfire hits. He said he almost can't sleep at night.

It doesn't have to be hurricane hit areas either. As I learned today, it can happen anywhere.
I very near lost my truck and 20 acres of young timber.

By the way, this did not occur anywhere near my house. If it had, I would have handled it myself with heavy equipment. But this was several miles away, and I didn't have any equipment handy.

Good thing, or the HOA would be all on you.

I was part of a lot of prescribed burns in my earlier timber days. It is amazing how a fire will feed on fuel and on itself. Burn master let one get away from him over in Tallapoosa GA one day. Burned up a 40 of Bowater and nearly a house. Caught me and one other guy from behind. All we could do was sit in the middle of the fire break. Now where to go, all the fuel was behind us and fresh burn in front of us. Scared the hell out of me. Popped my cherry good that day.

It's a sinking feeling when you realize that you are not in control of it.
