If you are otherwise healthy and think you may have the flu, STAY HOME! They are saying to not even go to the doctor because you can spread it to others or if you do not actually have it, you can catch it from someone who does have it and did not or could not stay home due to other medical issues.

I have read where they are wanting kids to stay out a full week now because they can be contagious for up to 6 days after not having a fever.


Handwashing, Lysol and not touching your face are your best defense against it besides having gotten the flu vaccination.

Found out today that my father-in-law has pneumonia and he was at our granddaughter's birthday party Saturday. I found out Monday that two of our daughter-in-law's sisters tested positive for the flu that day. I am really hoping he doesn't end up with that on top of the pneumonia.

Scary stuff. Great idea to just stay in the woods drive home eat go to bed. Repeat lol

99 kids out yesterday at Chilton county high school.

Seems like I heard 200ish out in Decatur city system last Friday(?) and like 800ish this week. Wife had 1/3 of her class out either with it or suspected, last week. They had a meeting about attendance yesterday, but school still open so far. Hope we stay away from it...got one of the strains last year and it was awful. First time in 30+ years. Good luck to all.
