I can't hold it steady without 2 points of contact either which is why I find it "humorous" that many think they can whip their rifle up on the rail of a ladder stand or shooting house window and shoot a deer at 400 yards.

"Hit a deer" is a relative term in those circumstances. Maybe in the guts or the hoof.

Give me 10 people that are going to "dail" some dope up on a deer and I'll show you 7 of those that probably can't hit an elephant in the arse at that distance.... they are living in an alternate universe where having turrets on your rifle scope simply means you can make unrealistic shots all day long. I never hear these 1,000's of hunters across 100's of message boards explaining how they are using some sticks under the buttstock or have the rifle up in a dead shot field pod, etc. Talking about how hard it is to actually make that shot ethically. Only.... you can shoot one 700 yards! Ok.. so you've built shooting benches in all your shooting houses? You've got an elevated shooting position overlooking a food plot where you have a shooting mat on the ground and you are shooting off a bipod?

They don't. Shot is NOT happening. I'm guessing 30% can actually do it. The rest just own a scope capable of it.

Spent brass: there’s no replacement for it. Some do and some don’t. Some have and some won’t. Assuming about others only goes so far, here or behind a trigger.

FWIW, I am still seeing results on the range and in the field, that the Natchez Burris E1 does a lot of things well, especially for $159....and that’s not trying to say it’ll dial like an SS or NF, etc....but for general hunting use and as much accuracy as most care about, it’s a value. Not sure where mine will end up permanently residing, but it’s killing things to 350, and holding POA/POI to <1/4 moa...after some spinning/shooting.

1) Weaver Super Slam. Etched reticle. Made by LOW. It will shoot the box no problem. Optics and coating are as good a Meopro IMO. I think the scope cost me $250 on clearance or something similarly stupid cheap.

2) Sightron SII Big Sky 3-12x42 w/ adjustable objective and pop up turrets. Glass is pretty good and comparable to anything in it's retail price range $600+. Low light performance is better than I expected. Sightron's ExacTrack system is 100% reliable. This scope will also shoot the box no problem. Wasn't as cheap... maybe $400 on clearance but worth every penny.

As far as dialing in concerned it is not necessary inside of 400 yards and for sure NOT inside of 350. Any further than that and things are getting pretty iffy without a good rifle rest. Very hard to hang the gun out the window of that shooting house and get steady enough for a 400 yard shot. If you say it is easy you are FOS and I can't be convinced you know what you are talking about. You have to have a better rest setup and/or possibly go prone. There is no way you can hold your high magnification Mall Ninja Endorsed scope steady like that because you can't hold the gun that steady. And if you can't hold the gun that steady you are going to jerk the trigger at least some. And therefore you can't do it. A fine reticle 20x scope on a target at 400 yards with no bag... not steady enough with only 1 point of contact. If the gun is not rock steady you can't squeeze the trigger. And on top of that if the target is somewhat moving you can't adjust the rifle, steady, squeeze, etc. On top of that you can't dial up your dope, set the rifle rock steady and squeeze the trigger like you should on a moving target even if that means it only took a couple steps.

Can it be done? Absolutely. BUT for 10 people that say they can shoot that far I'm going to guess 3-4 could actually hit a pie plate - first shot - consistently - at 350 shooting out of a shooting house window. 2-3 are going to hit the deer in the arse. And the rest are going completely miss.
