243 round

Got another gun safe Queen - hav not shot much and hav not bought ammo in forever for 243. I never hunt w it and Shockingly my daughter wanted to go shoot today and I only had 2 rounds left and she shot those. What is the best ammo for deer for 243 - grain and ammo brand ??

100 gr has served me well
I load 95 Barnes now

Pretty much any 100 grain soft point will work fine. The thing now is just being able to find ammo and it shoot good in your rifle.

My sons Ruger American compact likes the Norma 100 grain ammo. I shot a pretty good buck with it and drt.

My daughter has a Ruger M77 compact and it likes 100 gr Remington Core-lokt (only 1 deer has ran after being shot and it dropped within 50 yards of shot location). Had problems finding it the last couple of years (like other ammo) but I picked up a few boxes of the Norma 100 gr for it to try. After a day at the shooting range, it has pretty much the same POI as the Remington (rotated shots, 1 Rem round, 1 Norma round) and the holes were pretty much touching each other at 100 yards

I like Federal blue box 100gr…

Norma, Cor-lokts, federal power shock (blue box) have performed flawlessly for me. Like has been stated, anything in the 100 grain soft point variety that your gun likes to shoot.

Federal Fusion 95gr, inexpensive, easy to find, accurate, and deadly on deer. Harder to find but good..95gr Nosler Partition.

I've killed near 70 deer with the Federal Fusion 95gr, good load.
