Scope rings for AR10 - 12/05/22 05:06 PM

What height would I need to mount a 2.5-10x44 scope with a 30mm main tube?

Probably some Mediums. I usually end up ordering two when i'm unsure šŸ™ƒ

Cantilever mount and done. I see no advantage in trying to setup something else.

I am leary after having my Vortex one not keep the scope from moving. They are replacing it and the scope, but..... I just wonder if the semi auto is sort of like a slide hammer to the scope, if you know what I mean.

Well, I doubt Iā€™d put anything other than high/extra high on top of any ARā€¦..the stock/bore alignment is in line and you need much higher sights/rings (1-25-1.5ā€) than on a regular hunting stockā€¦.objective clearance isnā€™t the concern. Iā€™d also pick a good, one piece (cantilever) over rings most days for an ARā€¦.ADM, Larue, Bobro, Warne, Aero , etc.

If this will work , they're mighty fine , rock solid mounts.

The Burris are heavyā€¦.but weight isnā€™t a concern for many with ARs. If it is, the Aero Precision ultralight mount is one of the lighter options.

Get the team Warne Cantilever. I have 5 of them and the others canā€™t touch them. The Burris isnā€™t bad though I have 2 of those.

Well, Iā€™m pretty sure Iā€™d pick JP, Geissele, Badger, Aad, and many others over the Warneā€¦.not saying they arenā€™t good, but I would be skeptical that theyā€™re ā€˜betterā€™ than many othersā€¦.thereā€™s a TON of quality mounts out there, and the PEPR and even primary arms stuff are good for the $, but Iā€™m partial to the Aero on hunting ARs.

What I have is a vortex sport 3 in offset. Since the scope is a vortex, having a matching mount seemed athletically good. It's not a cheap mount. But the first one did not keep the scope secure. Maybe it's a function of the BCA upper on a PSA lower , which I have corrected with a PSA upper now?

I got the Burris a few weeks ago for an AR 15 on sale on amazon for around $50.

I don't like the picitiny on top of the rings on those.

Every mount comes with a set of smooth top ring caps as well as the picatinny caps

That's good to know.
