Browning shotgun question - 03/28/21 05:46 PM

I have Browning A5 and am trying to figure out the age.
The numbers on are 1M 50142. It has the round knob on the stock.
Anyone in the know that could tell me?

Thanks.

Deciphering Browning serial numbers is bout like Chinese arithmetic. However, I think your A-5 is a 1961 standard weight .

Yes, 1M is a 1961 Standard Weight 12.

Anyone needing Belgian production info is welcome to PM me, and I’ll look it up in THE book.
