Old guns - Russian M 1895 Revolver - 10/17/20 11:47 PM

This is a 1938 dated M 1895 shown with SSH-36 helmet and a N-40 combat knife (anybody know where I can find a star for the helmet?)

I don’t know if it’s the right one but they’ve got 10pks of Russian helmet stars on eBay for $24.99.

That ammo needs to be circumcised.

Fur the 1895 cylinder moves forward to mitigate gas loss. Which results in a 638 lb trigger pull.

Making the worlds only silencer compatible revolver.

Exaggeration? Maybe just a little but not by much. Like most Russian WWII military equipment its way overbuilt.

7.62x38R is the ammo. Yes it's weak.

Interesting pistol. They went to a lot of trouble with the unique cartridges and the design which not only rotates the cylinder but shifts it a little foward to facilitate a better gas seal between it and the barrel. But despite all that the actual increase in performance was pretty minimal as I recall. Definately the heaviest double action trigger pull you will ever experience. LOL!

These are very interesting pistols, I have one that I threaded 1/2-28 for a suppressor and it’s a real hoot! Very quiet. As mentioned, the DA trigger pull is quite obnoxious.

Yep
Its a PIA to reload too. Did 50 rounds yesterday. You have to set the bullet back and crimp the edge for it to seat in the barrel.

I've read about several that had that done. Would like to see a photo if you don't mind.

Have you tried loading them normal, and then dumping them in cold water?

😂

That was bad. Really. Remember Costanza on Seinfeld? Shrinkage.

just one more addition, I just got a span can of 1092 rounds of Russian surplus ammo for this pistol from Classic Firearms. Price shipped was $234. Fired 50 rounds yesterday. Its good ammo and although not a beauty its a decent functional revolver. Always handy to have as a back up.
