Percussion Boot Pistol - 07/23/20 11:45 PM
Anybody familiar with old percussion " boot" pistols? Picked this one up recently. About 6.75" long.
Thanks

I've seen dozens of them at the gun store. Were very popular in the 1840s - 1880s. Gamblers, prostitutes, and ladies carried them daily. Usually about .30 caliber. Were made in Belgium, England, France, and here. Were inexpensive, simple, and effective. Yours is a nice one. They usually aren't in that good condition. I'd shoot it.

Thanks RK, only mark is number "6" on frame and barrel. It's a pretty nicely fitted piece.

Its a good looking gun. Impression tells me its English. French and Belgian guns tend to be less blocky and slender.
