I had a thread here where you could buy one at a great price in a pre introduction sale. Have they even been introduced yet ? The link below is best price I've seen, but no one has any in stock. Buds has thgem for $679 and you can reserve one.

Think I'll wait a while before getting one. Have read that after all the hype has worn off them, they'll go down to the low $500's and possibly $499 when on sale
I will wait a while myself, think they will be fun to shoot. Saw it on grabagun for like 750 but there sold out.

Whats the intended purpose of this thing? and that 5.7x28 round.?
Just looks terribly clumsy for EDC.

5.7 round is supposed to defeat light body armor. I'd like to have one, but not for my EDC

The 5.7 gives 20 shots per mag in a lightweight package.

Re: Ruger 57 - 02/19/20 08:26 PM
I will have one. Knowing the extended range of the little 5.7 round from owning several FN's, and also knowing how Ruger builds their stuff, I can't see this as anything but a win / win.
The current edition of the NRA magazine The Rifleman has it on the front page and review inside. Just came in the mail today and I haven't read it yet.

Well, just stopped by Larry's in Madison last night and they had one. Now I do, lol. Haven't shot it yet but looking forward to trying it out! Mag release is a little hard to reach, even for larger hands but otherwise feels pretty good. Trigger is very light and crisp.

The round is great. You can bust clay pigeons out of the FN at 100 yards with irons. I kid you not.
Plus , FN has some rounds that are armor piercing and will go right through level 3 body armor. Just saying.

Good info. Is Larry proud of them or reasonable?

They are getting $699 for them. I've seen them as low as $619 online but after getting my hands on one I had to have it. Ready to try it out!

I purchased a chit ton (FN Brand) from Palmetto several years back for like $17.99 a box 😀
Has anyone got one yet? How is it?

Going to shoot mine in the morning... I'll report back ASAP!
10-4 let me know. Happy shooting to you.

Re: Ruger 57 - 02/22/20 10:44 PM
Range was crazy busy today but the gun was a shooter for me. Trigger was great, happy with the accuracy but I know it would have been better with someone else pulling the trigger or at least a lot less shooting going on, lol. Groups were obviously tighter than groups with my Ruger security 9 and I'm pretty comfortable with it. Recoil was barely noticeable but with electronic muffs and the dude shooting a 500s&w two spots down, I couldn't tell you about the report of the gun. Overall happy with everything about it except the cost of ammo. I'll be looking for some bulk ammo soon!
10-4, think you can find some decently priced ammo online.
Thanks for the update. May see if I cant talk the wife into letting me get one soon

I thought about that but then decided it might be easier to get forgiveness, lol. She's a good one. Never complains about me buying guns, especially if I get her one every once and a while. All I got when I told her was an "ok, cool".
Good deal, mine about the same. Never have complained but she does ask from time to time why I need so many. I have 3 boys so I tell her so they have plenty when in gone but I have to have the same number to pass down.
I read the review in the NRA magazine and it's all good. I reckon they really liked everything about it, especially vs the FN original version that had very poor ergonomics and high price tag. The Ruger is half the price of the FN and that should help sell it. They did mention the quite long forward travel of the trigger for reset. And it has quite the muzzle blast as would be expected from a high pressure round. Hopefully Ruger will add a few options as buyers give feedback and I might get interested enough to buy one.
