Browning Buckmark Reflex site

Anybody have one? Looking for a low cost reflex site to put on an AR for plinking, etc.

I like the SIG Romeo.

I loved the Burris fastfire I had on mine. Took it off and put it on a Turkey gun. Still mean to get another.

That design has always seemed frail to me and the ones I’ve tried are prone to bad parts lax aberrations, which will tick you off trying to sight in. Sig Romeo and the Holosun stuff have versions that can be had fairly cheap. The motion on/off is a great feature to have, and battery life has been good. If you have any minor astigmatism in your firing eye, or other conditions, sometimes the prism sights are much more non-fuzzy on reticle than the pure dot sights, plus they generally have a glass etched reticle, visible even when off/batteries are dead. The various LPV scopes out now for ARs usually check more boxes for versatility in actual use, and are just as fast on 1x. Some will say that it’s faster with a dot or reflex, because of the myth they’re faster to get behind than a prism or LPV with normal eye relief, etc....but the truth is you have to get behind them all, and the Prism and LPV are generally at least as fast AND more accurate because of the reticles. I have a couple that I still run dots on, but they’re pistol and/or house guns. I’m slowly moving away from the red dots outside of shotguns and handguns. Having a bit of magnification for the range/hunting, along with 1x for speed, is a better combo. The 1x, 2.5, and 3x prisms are a light/simple/cheap way to compromise in the middle. Even at 2.5/3x, they’re almost as fast up close as a dot, and faster on anything 50-300 for precision. Ive run most versions of Aimpoints, Eotechs, Elcans, Trijicons, etc. good ones, but I come back to a prism or 1-4/6/8 LPV scope with illum for riding most of my builds. Truth is: if its so close/fast you think a dot might win on speed, you should probably just be shotgunning an AR with your head up, looking OVER the sights, anyway.....the sights were for stuff outside the building, by typical doctrine.....why most of ours were running 4x trijicons, and clearing rooms just as fast or faster, as the aimpoint/eotech huggers. Just my take, whatever it’s worth.

Good points. I agree on close in. Your gonna just be working that trigger and pointing the rifle.
I have often thought about putting a sight on my buckmark, but it's my hunting club work gun and I'm afraid of knocking it off or tearing it up.
