Pocket carry .45????

Pocket carry .45???? - 08/23/19 07:55 PM

Is there such a pistol that exists? If so, what it is it and let me know what you think about it please. A .40 would work too if there is something substantially better in weight/size than the smallest .45's out there.

I carry this pistol in an Uncle Mike's neoprene inside the waist band holster in my front pocket. It works very well for me.

Never leave home without it.

Just because you can put a big heavy pistol in your pocket, doesn't mean it is a pocket pistol.

There is a small light weight derringer in 45 ,not a Bond Arms though. You might as well have a brick in your pocket as a BA.

I had a bond arms and i hated the trigger. Its was almost like a back tension release for a bow, you couldn't really "make it" go off, you had to squeeze the trigger. I sold that bastage lol

My glock 21 may be big but it's there . Easy got out and full size ready to go . If Im gonna carry I'm carrying what fit in my hands and I can shoot well. And it don't end up backwards and side ways in my pocket.

I carry in a holster most times but a fast trip to the store in the pocket it goes

Springfield XDS45 everyday because it’s the easiest to conceal. Always performs well, but the Glock 30 is the most comfortable I’ve ever shot.

I would honestly like to see a picture of that Frankie. I can't imagine having a pants pocket big enough to put a 21 in.

I’ve got a shield 40 that’s been a good pistol. You might get by with the flush fit mag. The shield is the same size as a Jframe.

S&W M&P Shield. 7+1. works well.

Is that your 45

Re: Pocket carry .45???? - 08/25/19 08:51 PM

if you're asking me, yes I carry that sometimes. I have a Glock 43 I also carry. 9mm so it is slightly smaller but the M&P is a nice small weapon in .45, single stack, ported barrel, so this one I have is the performance one. I forget the exact terms.

I have that Kimber Micro 9 I started a thread about also, and a Sig P238 it's .380

so..I kinda carry a few different ones, I keep one in the truck all the time as well.

I suggest that people learn to carry adequate firepower. It may take awhile to get used to it, but if the crap hits the fan and I'm stuck with a derringer, I'm pretty sure I would have wished that I just learned to carry a real sidearm. My minimum carry pistol is a pistol that can carry 8 rounds and starts at 9mm luger and works it's way up from there. Protection isn't about comfort. It's about protection.

Carry whatever you can and will carry. That's what it's about, not protection at any inconvenience. If protection really was top priority we would all wear vests and helmets 24-7 and mostly just stay home.LOL

I would say in most situations of SHTF a handgun should be used to get you to a rifle. Either in the truck or at home.

I know what you mean though buddy. I would rather carry my full sized H&K USP but I also own a Kahr P380 for when I can't carry my real fighting handgun.

Absolutely. A sidearm is a tool to open up the exit door. That's all.

Interesting. I can’t remember the model, but I would really like another single stack 9mm.

Re: Pocket carry .45???? - 08/27/19 04:23 PM

6906 is the double stack 9mm. Working from memory, I believe it's 12 + 1. Great old guns!

No, sorry, but if I run across one I'll let you know.

The problems I've encountered with these old Smiths is magazines and holsters can be hard , if not impossible, to find.
