What are everyone’s thoughts on the Super Black Eagle 3 and what is the value of a slightly used one in black?

I have a 2 and love it. The 3 is a little more refined. The main improvement in my mind is how slick the bolt operates. Even if you ease it closed, it will close all the way. You can't do that on a 2. I don't know what a used ones worth, but I would love to have one.

They are awesome from all I've heard. Price is still gonna be steep. Not a lot of used ones out there to pick up.

Don't know about a SBE3 but I also don't know how you can improve on a SBE 1st Generation I have had one for 25 years and it has been used big time including guiding duck hunts in the flyway. It has never failed me and don't see how I can't get another 25 years out of it.

If the SBE3 is an improvement over that buy 2 now before they quit making them.

I’m on several different duck hunting groups on Facebook and a lot of those guys have had discussions on the SBE3. From what I gather, the 3 shoots way off of POA, so bad that you can’t correct it in most cases. A lot of those guys switched back to the SBE2. YMMV

Unless you're dead set on the SBE3 or want to shoot 3.5 inch shells, you might want to check out the Benelli M2. Tried, true and about as reliable a shotgun as you can buy and its $500 cheaper than the SBE3. I hunt ducks and and turkey and have never found a need for 3.5 inch shells, but some folks like it. To each their own. Full disclosure, I don't own an M2 but nephew and a couple of friends do and all have been satisfied with them after years of use. Always wanted one.

Good point. Unless you are doing a lot of duck hunting I would not put as much emphasis on the need for a 3.5 inch gun. There is not a whole lot of difference with steel shot.

I've read that too. Shot a few volleys out of one last duck season that a guest had.

It was dead on and shouldered like my other Benellis. The forearm is much skinnier than the 1 or 2.

Really? Idk, I haven’t shot one. I’m a lefty, so that why I’m sticking to my sbe 2 so loyally. I just wish they made the lefty with a shorter barrel.

My buddy bought his son one when they first come out and it’s been sent back several times for work

That's disappointing, hopefully, that was just some early run woes. I'm pretty well convinced most manufacturing companies have early run woes.
