I’ve been carrying a Kimber micro 9 CDP. I have been eyeing a new Glock 43x, looks good on paper but I haven’t had chance to handle one.

I know y’all will think I’m crazy but I went with a Ruger LCP. My wife has one. When we’d go out to eat, I’d slip it in my pocket. Honestly, it’s a great size and you forget you’re carrying. I’ve gotten out of her car lots of times and she’d be like “You’re forgetting something. Aren’t you going to put my pistol back.”
I said to heck with it and bought my own. Paint the sights. The all black is hard to see.
You can find them online for $169 usually. Another $20 for FFL transfer and you’re in one under $200.
It comes with a serviceable pocket holster although mine is currently in a DeSantis.
So far, it always goes bang.

Edit: I’m probably going to get an extended mag just to give me a bit more grip. My pinky won’t fit on the factory mag.

Mine is an LCP, because I find myself actually carrying it.

I pocket carry a glock 43 and love it. Carried a j frame Smith before the glock and it carried well also. The glock just has a couple more rounds.

NAA, 22 magnum.
I have no false bravado, or any intention of engaging a firefight with any sidearm.
My sidearm is to facilitate my escape from the firefight.

Same here.

I know a lot of people carry them, but the LCP seems like junk to me. Crappy trigger and shoot terrible.

Kahr CM9 for times when I feel like my Glock 23 is too big to conceal. It's a 9mm that's not much bigger than most .380's

(for reference, I have small-ish hands)

Kahr CM9 here too. I have been very happy with it. Nice trigger.

4 things
Buy something small you will carry --- yep, .22, .380, 9 mm ---- It's alabama, it is hot most of the year, pocket size guns beats a .40, .357 sig, etc. in a drawer at home because you "don't want to be bothered with strapping it on."

Have a gun that is bigger in the car/truck -- yep, your .40, .357 sig., a rifle, whatever. Ok, so you grab two guns heading to the truck ----- or hey, just buy a gun for each vehicle you own and leave it in there. Don't flame me for keeping a loaded gun in my truck all the time and one in the audi and one in the Vette, I don't have kids nor grandkids.

Don't listen to all the people on these forums about a .22 isn't big enough, a .380 won't stop a guy hyped up on drugs, a .45 hollow point might not open up if fired from a short barrel into heavy winter clothes or etc. Yes, all that is accurate, but a .22 to the head is nothing to laugh at --- same for a quick shot from a .380 into the leg --- a .45 round is just a huge round with a big hole, expansion, that round is already huge.

Practice shooting yes, but practice drawing and shooting from different pants/shorts and with whatever else you carry in that pocket, if you pocket carry, (fyi. I don't carry anything else in the same pocket as my gun and I use a pocket holster, and it keeps my gun secure, plus in the same place for when I reach in for it) and , positions and times of day (yep, practice shooting at night in low light).

I heard a guy at academy telling little old black lady the same thing about stopping power. I wish I would have said something. I should have said “so you would be good with being shot with a 22mag or 380?” He probably sold her a gun too big/heavy that she will never use.
