Recently bought a 10mm hi point carbine (well they just came out with 10 mm version only reason I bought it) toying with idea of using it for a brush gun along side my 1894 anybody else hunt with these hideous looking creatures pros and cons

10mil is basically a .41 mag in auto design. 36000 psi or so. I'm not sure I'd trust a hipoint to handle that pressure level.

Don't have one but I would think if it's accurate and you are comfortable with it then why not?

This is my thinking as well. The good thing is, when it breaks, they will give a new one

Not meaning to be a smart ass but ,to me they are cheap thug guns. They will probably work but I don't want one. They are just about like the SKS of old when I could buy them all day long by the case for $60 each. No,I wouldn't want to hunt with one but I think I could kill something with it if it was all I had.
It will never hold any value other than just under what you paid. I figure there are so many other guns I would like a lot better by just saving a couple more months to buy.

If you still have hands, eyes or face, with with to shoot it.

I've heard mixed reviews on them I haven't had a chance to go plinking with it yet it's ugly and bulky but seem to be well built American built can't beat that

That's as far as it was accurate??
I understand we are talking about a Hi-Point, but if 50 yards was as far as it's accurate, it may as well be a pistol. Well, a more expensive pistol. Their pistols aren't accurate past about 10 yards

They ain't the prettiest one nor the high priced one but it will go bang when you engage the switch and is accurate.

I had a red dot on it and never shot it past that, it was an armadillo hammer

Are there folks walking around without arms and faces because of high point?

Based on my admittedly limited research, they actually seem to get pretty good reviews...

Re: Hi points carbines no smartasses ha ha - 07/30/18 03:45 PM
Honestly, every one of the pistols I've worked on, were due to small part failures although, I have seen one 9mm with a cracked frame.
They go bang and for the most part are reliable, but I have a hard time warming up to a gun that's major components like the slide and frame are made from zinc alloy (pot metal).

I've shot the original Norma 10mil load. Blue flame roman candle like flash and velocity full on .41mag juuuuust a bit hot.

Same here.
Bought mine used and it had a problem with the trigger not re-setting after each shot occasionally. They fixed it quickly and gave me some freebie stuff. I'm pretty sure they just sent me a new gun with the same receiver and barrel. Way more accurate than a handgun all things equal. 1.5 - 2" at 50 yards from a rest. Never shot it at paper any farther.

Got one in .40. Rolls around under truck seat and still goes bang when you want it to. Will hit a pie plate at 100 yds all day, but I dont try to deer hunt with it.

Same here had one in 40 cal and would shoot accurately with any ammo I fed it. I had no doubt I could have killed a deer at 50 yards if inclined.

Took one on a trade, 9mm, put a red dot on it and hard to miss a Pepsi can at 70 yards! It’s cheap fun to shoot, rides on the back seat floorboard of my suv.

Why wouldn't they? Manufacturing one is probably cheaper than shipping.
