I hunt with the same rifle and tried loading several different setups. I got the tightest group with over the counter Remington 150 grain core loks. Fine rifle just a little heavy for long walks if you decide to stalk.

I have a .Steyr PMR in .30-06 that works best with 150-grain Hornady. Love my Steyr. Thinking of getting a couple more although I don't need them.

it's hard to beat the 165 gr anything out of a .30 cal. I 've been shooting the 165 ttsx for a long time now out of my 30 06 with great results. I'm a new 300 owner myself. That tc pro hunter 300 mag sat in the classifieds too long . I had to have it so I'll be working up some loads for it when I get time.

I've said the same thing a thousand times! If you have a .30 cal, and want the best it has to offer, go with a 165 or 168.

yep same velocity as the 150's and the same energy and bc as the 180s.im a fan. correction, the ttsx are 168 not 165 . the tsx is 165.

Those 180's & 200's not the fastest of .30's but they bring the pain.

Ive only tried corelokts in my 300. My first shot is always a little off but it does alright.

Try some Hornady 168's...do your part and I'd bet that'll tighten WAY up!

That’s 2 different 3 shot groups in a one inch square. 2nd and 3rd touch just want to tighten that first one up. I may try some just have had bad luck with them in the past not expanding.

not a bad group for corlokts. That cold bore shot is your most important shot of the group imo.

My Steyr Pro Hunter .270 loves factory ammo. Unfortunately, the factory is in South Africa--Pretoria Metal Pressing, PMP. They make a lot of military ammo, including artillery shells. Lucky for me, I bought a case before they quit exporting them to the US. It's a typical cup and core standard velocity round, but it always goes where I aim, and I have used it to kill deer out to 330 yards. Here is a shot I've shown before, a sight-in session before hunting season one year. I liked the group of the first three shots, but wanted it an inch higher. I moved the scope up 4 clicks and fired shot #4. Took one look, retrieved my target, and left the range.
