You don’t need a snipers nest to hunt with a rifle like that. I own 3 heavy barrels rifles with long range scopes on them. I hunt shooting houses, ladder stands, climbers and sit on the ground and hunt with them. It’s only a little extra weight. Nothing to it...

The Remington 5R is only weighs about 1-1/2 pounds more than a magnum spotter weight. Its just that the gun is barrel heavy and doesn't balance as well. I've used my 308 in a climber a few times, but mostly use it in a shooting house.

I know it.I'll get a heavy weight one day. I just like giving you snipers a hard time. My light weight rifles have about spoiled me.

I handled a Browning Hell's Canyon today in 300 win mag and it was surprisingly light.I might buy one if I could find one of the limited editions with the McMillan stocks.

They are sure shooters. I have one with a 24" threaded, tri-fluted barrel, vortex rings and a 6-24x50 Vortex PST on an EGW 20 MOA base. It's shoots like that too.

What ammo are you running?
