Mounts and rings.

Hey guys, just got a leupold vw-2. Thought I was gonna buy a vw-1 for my .35 marlin. But got a great deal so I got the 2. With the 2 having CDS im mounting it on my savage 30-06 model 111. Due to the LA of this rifle Im having trouble getting the scope far enough back for good eye relief especially at higher powers. What is the bet mount and rings for the combo I have for wanting to get the the eye relief I need.

Picatinny rail and rings.

My gun is a top load. Tried picatinny, wont let me load

On a Savage 111? How does a rail block the port,confused?

I'm guessing they're Leupold base/rings and the bell of scope is hitting front ring?
Try Talley Lightweights, with front ring turned right way it should give you a1/2in or more room to slide scope further back.

I put the DNZ game reaper mounts on my savage and had excellent eye relief. And they are a very solid mount and they are tapered around so the top load is still accessible.
