I do not, but I want a 9mm AR, just because you can plink with them cheaper than just about any other centrefire.

Buddy of mine's dad hunted with a Ruger 9mm carbine for the longest time. He killed the hell out of some deer with it too. He was an in-the-woods kind of guy. Not sure he ever took more than a 50yd shot.

We had patrol rifle qualification last week and a guy had one. That was a cool little set up. He had a few 30rd mags and we all shot that thing. It was funny to listen to the line shooting and hearing the difference between it and the 556s. It's definatly something I want to look into.

I have shot the Colt SMG but that was 20 years ago. If one would work with Glock mags that would be the ticket. I haven't really looked into it I just always feel like I'm going to shoot one of my fingers off with something that short without a can on it.... eek Just haven't wanted to go through all the paperwork yet.

Wilson Combat and a company called Nano both build 9mm carbines that take Glock mags. If you know Wilson you will know that they are very proud of their products and price them accordingly.

Sig MPX is a sweet shooter but get your wallet out!

Re: 9 mm carbine - 05/19/17 05:48 PM

Been doing some looking. Only one in my price range is the Hi-tec but don't like it at all. Beretta is nice but pricy as well. The Kel-Tec looks wierd, but it folds and feels great and barrel comes threaded. Buddy bought one last week and gonna shoot his before I go farther. Thanks for the input.

Mech tec ccu for Glock may be an option.

Palmetto State sells a lot of 9mm kits. Some take glock mags and some don't

I have a Kel-Tek Sub 2000.
It is fun to shoot.
Mine uses Glock 17 mags, you choose the model that uses the same mags as your handgun.
I have 30 round mags for mine.
It folds in half and fits in my briefcase, so when you see me in court and you wonder what's in my briefcase...

I have owned a couple of the beretta carbines. They are great!

Kel-Tek or the Beretta - either that or an AR set up. The High Points shoot but they sure are ugly.

I have the keltec Sub 2000 gen2 and a hipoint carbine..love the keltec..the hipoint is ugly but shoots good..just doesn't hold but half the rd capacity.

Re: 9 mm carbine - 05/21/17 03:56 PM

Got a JR Carbine .45ACP. Takes Glock mags. Got an EOTech on it and can hit a 8" steel gong at 125 yards consistently with 230 grain FMJ ammo.

Before I would trust my life with it, I would want to shoot it with each magazine that I intended to use in the carbine. We've had a couple factory Glock magazines that the JR Carbine didn't like (but Glock pistols functioned perfectly with those same magazines). Just something to be aware of. I think only 1 or 2 out of 15+ different magazines had that issue.

I'd love to have one of these in a suppressed SBR version. Actually, I'd be in KRISS territory then but a LOT cheaper.

Looks great! What is the barrel length and rail length? How do you like the XL linear compensator?

Re: 9 mm carbine - 05/22/17 08:35 PM

8.5" barrel length with 9" rail. I'm liking the kaw compensator. Definitely would purchase it again.

Call Matt at Gonzo Tactical in Scottsboro. He's building some very reasonably priced rifles and uppers right now. I have one of his 556 builds and have been happy with it. He had some 556 and 9mm pistol uppers the last time I was in there.

Re: 9 mm carbine - 06/02/17 09:03 AM

I am always claiming I'm going to get one and never do. Cool looking but from kind of a sketchy company is the chiappa M1 carbine copy in 9 mickey mouse. Kind of pricey imho at 400-500.

PSA has ar9 uppers right now starting at 300.
