Duratouch stock - 02/23/17 09:24 AM

Anybody have a Duratpuch stock that got sticky feeling. I sent mine back to browning this week. I am just wondering if they are going to make it right or try to stick me with buying a replacement stock.

I've heard of folks sending them back and Browning replacing the stock

Browning will put new duratouch on it and send it back to ya. It's a common thing from browning

They will send you a new one for NO CHARGE the man I talked to at Browning said more or less they know they are junk and are replacing em all , said they do it everyday almost. Only problem I had was they didn't have the same color of camo as mine were

They are redoing the duratouch on guns free of charge. The problem is they had several years worth of production before the flaw came out so they have hundreds of guns to redo. They've had my dad's Browning Gold since September and it still hasn't been finished. Some of what's causing the finish to break down is mesquito spray but hopefully they've changed the finish now so it won't break down.

I've got one I need to send back.

Just hate to be without it.

I guess one need to take the scope off before sending it to them?

God Bless,

yeah you have to take the scope rings and bases off. There is a form on brownings website that you have to include too. Just an FYI I didn't know it but USPS will ship a rifle. I shipped mine through them and insured it and it only cost about 30 bucks.

I spoke with Browning in early November and they said if I shipped it that week, it would probably be late February before it was returned. I just put camo tape over it and then wrapped some electrical tape around it to get me through the season. I was very impressed with the person I spoke with and he was up front about everything involved.

I sure hope that is not true.
I called a few months back and was told that they are swamped with redoing all these and they just swapped to another coating company.
My gun is going to be a complete recoat because they did not have the same camo to replace it with so they offered to redo the entire gun.

Just got off the phone with browning... got the same story. As in it be a few more months.
I asked him what is the usual wait time then. He responded by saying that last year was the first year they started restoring camo guns and they underestimated just how many would be sent back to them so that information is not available, but they are still doing them in the order they were received. He also said they have not lost a single one yet.

If this is the case, I may just keep the camo tape on mine and wait until the rush is over....

last year that's horseshit! One of my dealer has been sending them back for at least 3 years now, maybe they just started fixing them grin

Talked to them last week about one. They will recoat it if you send it back. Said 8month turn around. Dont like the thought of that too much..

They wouldn't give me a time frame. I voiced my displeasure and next thing I know I was told they would just give me a new rifle if I was okay with that

Re: Duratouch stock - 05/27/17 07:35 AM

Got my shot gun back yesterday...

Well all I can say good about it is that it isn't sticky anymore, and i got it back... All they did was hydro dip it. Looks as if they may have changed the trigger assembly as the gaurd looks brand new(I will have to look at the before pictures to verify this). The factory NWTF logo wasn't replaced on the butt stock, and there was no Browning swag included as promised being that it took nearly a year to get it back.

Would I have done this if i knew it would take over 11 months?... ABSOLUTELY NOT!!!
I would of just paid to had it dipped in Bottomland.

Re: Duratouch stock - 05/27/17 08:08 AM

That seems like piss poor service.

I would have expected more from Browning.

Re: Duratouch stock - 05/27/17 04:00 PM

I would've thought they would have Dura-Touch coated it again... looks identical to my 535 now though as in just a plain ol hydro dip job.

Being Browning i set my expectations pretty high on what i was going to receive back. But in reality that gun was as sticky as a glue trap before I sent it to them. And now its usable so I'm not totally upset... guess i was just expecting more.
