Today is the perfect day for

Northern Beans with ham and a pone of cornbread. My wife has put a pot on the stove and the house is smelling good.

Sounds dang good.

Generous slice of cornbread sliced open faced, beans and ham on top, sprinkled with diced onions and a few good shots of tobacco sauce. Yep, that’s the way I ate it. Oh yeah, added just enough pot liquor to keep it moist.

Nice.

Apparently today was also a good day for it, was just as good.
