Pretty Nice Thanksgiving With Mountain Friends... - 11/28/20 12:29 PM

We are having our little Thanksgiving today with my Youngest son and my Dad, but Thursday we were invited to have Thanksgiving with some of our very best friends, that are more like family than friends...

Cajun fried turkey
Conecuh smoked ham
Dirty rice with chicken livers
Roasted Brussels sprouts with toasted pecans and crazins
Roasted butternut squash
Green bean casserole
Cornbread dressing
Pecan pie
Chocolate pie

Cigars
W.L. Weller Reserve

Two of my best buds... Skip and Scott.

We had so many people Bettina brought out the fine china...

I forgot to get some green bean casserole.

I didnt know brussel sprouts were good until I roasted a few. Now I m a big fan. They have a cabbage taste.

I think Bettina (By her own admission) cooked it too long. It was a little stringy and tough. I'll report back on Christmas when I cook ours.

I will say that the Conecuh smoked turkey we cooked on Thanksgiving II was fantastic. I even made gumbo with it last night for our massage therapist and her husband. They loved it.

I'm going to try some Conecuh non-sausage products soon. Thanks for the heads up on the turkey.
