Wrap in foil, bake at 350 til juice starts bubbling out of them. They'll be very soft.

Time in the oven. When they are done they will be soft. We never wrap them unless we are reheating (we cook a bunch and freeze and then reheat). When we warm them back up we wrap in foil or the hulls will get tough.

Put em directly on the oven rack and back them at 375 for an hour then give them the squeeze test to see if they are done...put a cookie sheet under them to catch the drippings.

Thanks. Had one at Outback today that was one of the best I've ever had. I'd eat them every day if they were like that one.

You can also put them in a crock pot with a little bit of water in the bottom of the pot and cook them on low over night or all day if you plan ahead or obviously on high if you need them done quicker.

Wrapped in tin foil and in the oven. They cook a little faster than regular potatoes. Cook until about 200 degrees internal. Top with butter, cinnamon, allspice, and cardamom. Fantastic.

I asked the Mrs. she's a baked sweet tater master cook. Her's are like fluffy mashed taters. She rubs them in oil, cooks in a open pan , (no foil wrap), 325-350 degrees for about 2 hours. Yep , 2 hours. She said , low and slow is the secret .

I eat them about every day at work for morning snack this time of year.
Microwave 5-7 min depending on size. A good one baked slow in the oven with butter is hard to beat though.
