Smoked Chicken Wings

Smoked Chicken Wings - 08/03/18 02:50 PM

so ... wanted something quick last nite - dropped into Publix & bought a package of wings ... not realizing it was the wings & drums together (not really what i wanted) ... oh well, dusted them with a dry rub & put 'em in the fridge while i got a full chimney of charcoal going & prepared my Slow-N-Sear & Weber grill for the cook ... dropped 'em on the grate & ran the temp up to 375 for 40 minutes, and then opened the vents wide open & got the grill over 400 deg for another 10-15 minutes .... 50-60 min total cook time ... the skins were crispy & crunchy & the chicken was perfectly cooked ...

i really like fried wings, but smoked wings ain't too shabby either!

I like some smoked wings. I had some here at a local smoke house and that was by far the best chicken/wings Ive ever ate in my life.

Love me some grilled or smoked wings

That's my favorite way to do wings, although mine are "grilled" more than "smoked". I rub them with Pilleteri's Original seasoning and Southern Flavor Charbroil seasoning and that's it. About as good as it gets.

Looks great!

306 BBQ here in Florence has some of the best smoked wings I've tried. They smoke them for a while, then seems like they grill them over high heat quickly to get the skin crispy, then hit em with wing sauce. The charred/smoky taste with their sweet & spicy wing mild wing sauce is fantastic.

Those look great, but they're not smoked wings if you adhere to traditional views of smoking vs bbq'ing on temps.
