I rolled up some California rolls this evening. It's been a couple months since I had made some.

Looks awesome. I am a very basic sushi eater. I go for either California rolls or straight tekka maki. Gonna try to roll my own before long.

Good looking, tight rolls! You've got that downpat.
Making them at home is far, far less expensive than buying them in a restaurant, too. Along with the "tuna roll," the California roll is about the least expensive thing a restaurant can make and yet charge a crazy outrageous price for it.

Looks good, but you’ll have some on here wondering when you’re coming out of the closet.
I’ve always wanted to learn to roll sushi

What type of rice are you using for that Driveby?

It's actually sushi rice. I forget the brand but that's what it's grown for because of how sticky it is.

Actually you can make sushi from many types of rice. What makes it sticky is the preparation, the vinegar/sugar mix you put in it. 😁

No sugar in mine. Some rices have a higher starch content.

Making them isn't that hard, cutting them without them falling apart is a challenge without the right knife.

Cover with Saran Wrap before cutting.
