Man I haven’t heard one gobble yet this season….there were at least 2 mature birds on this property at the end of last season along with a handful of jakes. There ought to be something cutting up…

Got off work at 4:30. An 1 hour 20 minute drive to the spot I wanted to start. First gobble at 6:05. Three different birds were hammering. Finally got one to commit. Down at 7:25. One bird was still hammering when I left. Probably go back in there Monday morning. Going to my other lease tomorrow morning with a buddy. I called up one for him Thursday morning. Good luck fellas

No luck, but did piddle with one lone hen for a few minutes so at least there’s signs of life finally
Got on the same one we got fired up yesterday about 10.
He was roosted in a good spot and I was able to slip up and set up on the bench he was strutting on yesterday morning.
That SOB flew down and strutted and gobbled in the road we set up on yesterday morning.
I’ll try him again in a while later this morning
Well morning was a bust then I just struck one…he completely circled and came in to 35 yards off my off shoulder and putted not seeing the hen…I swung to shoot and he ducked behind trees putting going off. I didn’t shoot but not the happiest of campers. No shot but trotted off putting.
Oldest son killed a good three year old about 8:30.
Watched one strut…not a dang gobble til after 9am..an i only got about 7 of them…hadeem..dangit i hadeem…an some dude totin a CROSSBOW…come walkkn up..he had to had heard the turkey…but in what universe do you just keep walkin down a wide open road to him…blewem out on me…dang gobbler had just come into sight🙃
I got on one of those rascals this morning that liked to gobble and run. Then, gobble again 10-15 minutes later about 200 yards from his last gobble…I finally got to within 125 yards of him at 8:15 and his hen lead him off in the opposite direction when I began calling 🤣

Had one gobble a few times over some terrain that's nearly impossible to hunt. Setting up on a ridge a few hundred yards away hoping he's working through this area.

Mine are burning it up off the roost, then hush as soon as they hit the ground. I’ve heard 11 different birds the past 2 mornings.

We had a great hunt minus the ending. Took my older son on youth hunt because younger son was at at math competition ( he finished second in the region and yes 1st place was an asian kid lol) Anyway, we heard a bunch of birds and worked 6 in real close. Off the roost 3 came up but stayed over the lip. We got in too close and didnt pick the best tree. Those 3 never would look over the lip but gobbled like crazy for a couple hours. Thwy were 25 yards away for at least 1/2 an hour. About 7 am we saw a strutter out at about 80 yards with a hen. He wouldnt budge. But gobbled and put on a show from 7 until 8. All while the other birds were on top of us. Then I heard a bird gobnle down the road and had my son spin on the tree. I could see the bird come up the road strutting. He got about 40 steps out and started looking. I told my son to take him. He missed. I think the strain of having the gun up for almost 2 hours and shifting around with all the directions of where to point got to him. He then said he had to pee and stood up and a 6th bird gobbled from the other hillside about 40 yards away. We sat back down and that bird walked right past us at 30 yards. We could hear him walking but he never stuck his head up so he could get a clear shot.
Lots of excitement and he learned a lot about gun placement, but in the end I should have let that bird get 10 more yards. We were just set up wrong for him and I was afraid he would see us.

Nah he’s a killer, got impatient on the first one and the second one was running through the woods so can’t really say that one was on him
