Dead at 6:59! He was not gobbling on the limb where I thought he would be so I went to the other end of the bottom and set up. Called a string of notes, nothing. 5 minutes later he hammered. Gave him a minute and cut back 5 times on the slate. Hammered right back 100 yards and closing. Came in looking with his hen in tow! First public land bird for me in AL and couldn’t be happier

Went to sweetwater 80 - worked bird across line - silent gob slipped n behind me and busted me when i moved my head - never made sound except cluck when saw me - other bird gobbled going away

Struck one up on way out - way across line but it was later n morning and he came quick - had safety off - ended up gobbling going away

Very grateful to work birds - they were all bettr than me 😀

He took the joking around like a champ! Proud of him though, he went after one on his own for the 1st today and called him up to 50 yards. Couldn’t get a shot so he let him ease off. Not bad for a 12 yr old. Got to listen to the whole deal after I killed mine.

Not a Peep from a Turkey in Chambers County this morning. I don't have to go far from the Cabin so I'll try again tomorrow......

Quite til 7:15 gobbled 3-4 times answering the crows. Cut at him he lit it up. I guess he hit the ground with hens and gone.
