I have an IC 555, but don’t care for it with 1 5/8 load. I’ll be trying it soon with a 2 oz load, and if it don’t shape up it’ll ship out.

You gonna have to tell us what you looking for. You want to impress folks with paper targets or you want to kill turkeys?
For the 1 5/8 oz loads in 9’s, I shoot a .587 Carlsons in my Benelli 20 gauge. Some loads I patterned I like a .582 Undertaker.

My 20 gauge montefeltro shoots the 1 5/8 ounce of 9’s well with a Carlson .585

Carlson .575 if it’s a 24” (or longer) barrel

I use a Rob Roberts Final Strut in my Montefeltro and it will stack 'em.

I’d try the factory full first. 20 yards was softball size. Easily a 50 yard pattern.

Is it safe to shoot the factory full with tss? It says no steel shot on choke . Isn’t tss harder than steel? I’ll try it if it’s safe , please all give your opinions on this cause I really don’t know.

8s or 9s will be fine. Just don’t shoot larger steel or tss like 2s or bbs because of the potential for bridging

I shot 1 5/8 oz load of 9s. First shot on paper at 40 yards shocked me (very tight) so I shot another - same result. I shot one at 20 yards that was roughly the size of a grapefruit. Too tight for me to be comfortable with in most of my hunting situations. The factory modified choke was nowhere close in uniformity or density to the factory full. I now have another 20ga dove gun 😜.

Yes I don't want it to tight, I shoot Hals 1 5/8 of 9's. I got the best pattern out of a undertaker 582 in my franchi affinity. I haven't mic the factory full in the benelli to see its constriction yet. Ill check it and try it but if its to tight Ill go a different direction.
