Cold Snap Gobbling - 03/19/21 03:03 PM

What kind of effect do you all believe this little cooler weather will have on the gobbling for tomorrow morning?

I’ve always been of the opinion that barometric pressure plays a bigger role than temps on gobbling. Cold high pressure days seem better sometime than a warm low pressure day.

I think this weekend will hear quite a few gobbling

Just my uneducated opinion though

I'll just be glad to put my vest on, load some LBXR's, and hear one.

Me and you both Dr. B. They were gobbling good in the tree last weekend at my spot so I'm hoping for the same results tomorrow. I feel like as long as I hear one and feel like I'm in the game it's a successful hunt. I feel like most of em in Henry County (as most places) will have hens with em'

The wind will be the major issue not the cold.

I'm with Doc. I'm so excited to just put my gear together, get up early, and drink my coffee in the woods while listening for them to wake up and come alive. Hearing a gobble is icing on the cake, and taking a gobbler is like the dancer jumping out of the cake.

Black to sun on early spring mornings is what I picture when they talk about Heaven. At least I bet it sounds just like it.

Wind is the only condition I hate.

Yes. I'd take rain over wind. Unless hunting out in the plains because then it is much more about what you can see rather than hear.

Yeah I think it’s gonna be tough Tommorow with this wind.
