Re: LFTW 4/17 - 04/17/20 11:54 AM

Had one gobble 3 times on the roost. The last time was to answer me. I'm changing tactics this morning and instead of chasing after him I'm going to see if he'll come back to me when he gets lonely.

Re: LFTW 4/17 - 04/17/20 12:13 PM

The bird I was waiting on finally sounded off, cut me off and I thought I was in the game. Heard a hen off to my left and guess where that joker went.... there was a couple other birds close by so I’m gonna wait it out as I’m right in the middle of them.

Re: LFTW 4/17 - 04/17/20 12:31 PM

Present in Coosa. Little windy this morning. And a little too quiet
Posted By: General

Re: LFTW 4/17 - 04/17/20 12:31 PM

Only heard two on the roost and finally got on one that stopped gobbling but ultimately led me to another bird. He was on my neighbors property in and old food plot right on the line. I made a big loop and got set up over the hill from him about 125 yards away. Took him about 5 minutes to come over the hill looking and he was drumming and gobbling the whole time. Killed him at 30 yards. #3 for me and the 5th bird off the farm so I’m done unless I can get my son another one. Been a great year!

Re: LFTW 4/17 - 04/17/20 04:01 PM

It’s getting to be like a broken record for me.
He gobbled hard. Came most of the way. Wouldn’t come on in.
I reckon I’m going to have to borrow someone else’s turkey if I’m gonna get my pitcher made with one this spring.

Re: LFTW 4/17 - 04/17/20 04:09 PM

I went with my father-in-law again this morning and we had a good idea of where two gobblers should be roosted (we’d seen them in a hayfield yesterday afternoon). We called them right in by 7:00 and my FIL botched his 20 yard shot. I rolled my bird at 35 yards...#5 is dead!!! I never imagined I’d be able to kill 5 birds at my properties in Alabama, but that dream has come true!!! 🙌🏼
