On my way to mess with a bird that’s kicked my tail the last two mornings. Was moving on him on the roost yesterday and spooked him out of the tree. Hopefully he didn’t go to far

68 degrees, cloudy with 10-15 mph winds. Awesome!!

With season going the wrong way on the calendar, I guess having a cool, calm, crisp morning to turkey hunt is a thing of the past for South AL.

Giving Coosa county tract a try for 1st time. Been at my listening spot for 5 minutes and already heard somebody blowing an owl call across the line. Even when owls answering him he’s blowing the ass end off that thing. Be safe and good luck to all!

Re: LFTW 3/27/20 - 03/27/20 11:55 AM

Been here before daylight, where we killed one yesterday, leaving 2 that were with him. Plenty of song birds, but no crows have sounded off, or gobblers. Heard a few hen's clucks when a deer blew. Going to sit tight. Well, just heard first gobble of today at 6:54. Too far away though.

God Bless,

Re: LFTW 3/27/20 - 03/27/20 12:07 PM

Got started extra early to setup on a spot I had been messing with birds the last two days. I got to my gate on public land at 4:35 and nobody was there. I got back to my setup spot and was situated and in my lounger at 5:15. I just sit back and start to relax until gobbling time. About 6-6:10 I hear a damn hunter hoot right behind me and couldn’t believe it. He then goes on to yelp before fly down and no bird has gobbled. I honestly have no idea what to do because I’ve never had many run ins with people on public land, but I also would never park at a gate that someone was already at and had already walked in. They ease on off down a gas line, never knowing I was there and I walk back to the truck pissed. Turns out it’s a damn truck from Indiana. I got to this spot at 4:15 on opening morning and someone was there, so I moved on elsewhere. Frustrating man!!

I haven't heard a gobble since Sunday, only clear morning we've had was yesterday and I couldn't go. Mighty early in the season to be running out of patience but I'm nearly there

Not looking forward to what's gonna be happening on the WMA's soon. I've hunted public once so far this year and did some riding around to see what kinda pressure the places I hang around during bow season were getting...first car I see is from New York. Hell of a drive to come down here for some turks. And I betcha they ain't going anywhere for a while.

I had a pack cutting up Sunday morning and it just made my bird gobble even harder. Almost made me want to stick my coyote howler in my vest.

I heard one gobble twice at 6:30am, went in his direction and set up. After that everything died down. Tried another set up and had one gobble three times. Unfortunately I had to leave at 8am and head to work.
