Question on mounting red dot on 870 20ga

I plan to just buy a saddle to mount my red dot on.
My question - is the saddle the same size for both the 12ga and 20ga?
All I can find is 12ga.

I don’t think they are same size. I found some 20-ga 870 saddle mounts on eBay. I’d look there if I were you. I saved them in my watch list.

I used a rail I bought for a BPS 12 ga that fits on the rib. I had to cut it down to shorten the lenght. I also had to file the slot for the venom I bought for it.

They are not the same. I bought a Millett saddle for mine from Midway. I just checked their site and I don’t see the one I ordered offered now. They have B-square now.

Seems like my B-Square saddle mount came with spacers for a 20 ga. I didn't like and just wound get it drilled and tapped. I do have one of the rails that mounts on the rib I will give you it you want to try it. I just never got around to trying it out and went with a drill/tap on my 870 and my son's 1187.

I found a b square specific for my youth 870 express 20 guage on Wal-Mart's website. It was the cheapest one I could find. Not sure about size difference on the 20 vs 12 though.
