Well they're inside the body near the kidneys. I usually don't dig in the guts much. I have plucked and cleaned a few whole birds so I'm sure I've removed the nuts but didn't ever make a point to single them out and look at them

I had some ladies ask me here at school if I had ever had them. I had never heard of them or ever thought about them to be honest. They said they had them at a party deep fried and they were pretty good. I guess no different than Rocky Mountain Oysters.

Re: Turkey Nuts - 05/17/17 08:33 PM

I ate with a large group at a nice steakhouse outside Raleigh, NC and they had rooster fries or some such on the menu. A guy asked about them, and the waitress explained that they were fried turkey nuts, so the dumbazzz went ahead and ordered them. He said they were good and offered to share, but I politely declined and explained that I have a strict no semen in my mouth policy.

That policy has served me well for 46 years, and I see no reason to ever abandon it.

Never crossed my mind until I read this but now I want to try them. I might start a new tradition at the club in some way. Deep fried in hot grease, how could that be bad?

Re: Turkey Nuts - 05/20/17 06:55 AM

One would starve to death depending on me to provide enough turkey nuts for a meal based on this season.....

But, as many turkeys as I have cleaned over the years I don't recall ever seeing any nuts come out.

I'll stick to boiled chufas myself.
