Re: LFTW 4-29 - 04/29/17 04:08 AM

Heading in extra early I found a wad of gobblers yesterday that have bunched back up together. Plan on getting to where they went yesterday before they ever start on the limb. Pumped up like it's opening day.

Good luck everyone. The wind is rough here this morning bit maybe it'll help cover up this relentless cough I've got.

Had the joy of having two dipshits pull up to the same gate as me, then tell me there's plenty of room for both of us on this 400 acre chunk of land as they blew on by us. I believe I'm gonna be trying to screw them up more than hunting this morning. There's about 100 other places to park on this wma Smdh

I feel your pain. I was sitting at the gate when an old man pulled up, where you gonna hunt? Well I can't hear toobwell, my hearing aids don't work blah blah blah. He wanted to go exactly where I was going. I let him have it, ain't like he's gonna kill one no how.

Re: LFTW 4-29 - 04/29/17 07:51 AM

Had 2 gobbling good one came in with a hen and skirted me just out of sight had a jake bully my decoy for about 20 min before he felt like he had shown him who was boss and walked off going to sit for a while see what happens

Re: LFTW 4-29 - 04/29/17 08:10 AM

Had one gobbling good on the limb, but was still in the tree at 8! He wasn't too far from where we parked so I figure he knew we were there. So we just bailed on him and set up meet where we heard another bird gobbling earlier

Re: LFTW 4-29 - 04/29/17 08:29 AM

East central Black Hills
28 degrees
Got back on the same bird as yesterday and threw everything but the kitchen sink at him. He pitched down and stayed in about 50 yards and just walked and gobbled in a circle. I gobbled, cutt and cackled basically made it sound like a party. He shut up after a while and next time he gobbled he was 3-400 yards away and movin away. Might come back this afternoon and catch him comin to roost

Not a peep in south Russell County. We covered lots of ground trying to put a guy from our club on a bird. It was as muggy of a morning as I can ever remember. I broke a sweat before it ever got daylight.

Re: LFTW 4-29 - 04/29/17 04:57 PM

This morning I rolled a bobcat and he jumped up and kept on going. This afternoon I rolled a big strutted and he flopped around a bit then jumped up and kept on going. I'm about disgusted, think I'll call that a season.

Going to try this afternoon. Saw a hen in a food plot on the way in. Set up on a road between 2 cut overs. About the only place I've seen any sign the last couple of weeks
