He has probably heard a whole lot of fake hens in his life. Don't dare yelp at him. Just give him a few soft clucks and then scratch leaves. And as already said, get where he wants to go. The soft clucks are mainly just so you can claim you called him. smile

I have had some success with stubborn birds by just utilizing a wing at fly down. Set up is critical.

I did a wing at fly down. Sounded damn good but guess he didn't like it enough

Some gobblers, on some days, are just gonna stand around and make everything come to them. It's safer that way. And that attitude helped them grow older.

On one like that I let him fly down and walk off do not call to him til he is away from his roost area. Once he is gone I go to about where he was rooster and turn it loose. Have had several come running back answering every call when before hand they would not gobble for 15 minutes when called to.
