There seem to be a lot guys on here partial to north Alabama but there's really nothing like hunting them under the Spanish moss down here in lower AL. Something I've always loved about it.

National forest. Surprisingly I didn't see a car at either of my first 2 spots. That might be a bad sign though cause if there are birds here cars usually are also. Who knows we will see. May get to hunt private land later this morning or tomorrow.

First morning in Texas. Just got settled in!

Set up on my Russell co. Place. Got 3 gobbling. Hopefully one of them wants to die.

One gobble wayyyyyy off in bibb this morning so far.

It's dead as can be here.

Have 3 gobbling their head off, went to set up and found a corn feeder slap full of corn, so off to the other side of the property to try to strike one up

Didn't gobble til 704 gobbled 4 times and died at 735

Done by 7:00am but took 45 minutes to hike out with a few extra pounds on my back. Just your average 3 year old with blond spurs on public land.

Son just killed one.

Surprisingly quiet here

No gobbles so far. Called in a hen about 30 minutes ago

All my birds shut down. Not a peep in over an hour. Have seen 5 deer though

Just had two at 80 yds and hens come and got them. They gobbled their heads off. Now they with the hens and ain't saying a peep.

Congrats to all the killers! YS, that bird may be older than 3. Fine bird no matter how old

They on fire here at Mullberry Fork. Spooked first bird got 3 more with in ear shot.

Congrats on the kills. Called up a 2 year old for my farther in law at 845. It was his first. We blew the first one we set up on but thank the Lord for second chances. Now he is hooked.

Killed a monster dominant bird at 7:30

Well no gobbling at my first spot moved to the other side of the property and they were tearing it up. Set down and called in a yote, made quick work of him and moved on down the road. Bird was gobbling about 300 yds away got set up but couldn't pull him in. While I was cutting I thought I heard 2 birds behind me well 10 mins later I hear clucks 5 yds behind my tree. They didn't like the situation they were in and got the heck out of Dodge. Oh well.

Finally had one act right this morning. Killed him at 730

Heard two up on top at 6:04 gobble twice. They pitched off to the east side of the mountain, all the property I have was in the west side. Saw 1 hen at 7:45. The place is full of birds, they weee just not working this am. I did hear two shots a mile or so away before 7 am. Saw three deer and found a shed antler.

Season don't open till the 8th here in SD so I went and did some listening and heard 4-5. I've been living vicariously through yalls LFTW posts since I can't make it down this year. Y'all keep it up

Face full of TSS

Best gobbling ive heard this year but didnt really start till 9:30. Called one up and missed at 10:00 got home and one is gobbling his head off behind the house. Sat on him from 11:00 till 12:30 moved 4 times but couldnt get him to cross a fence. He was still gobbling at 1:30 every once in a while.

Just had a silent bird come in. No shot.

Tight lipped for us this morning. I never heard a turkey make a sound til 11:40 or so. About 6 gobbles later and me and my pal Warbird had us an opening day double!
