Present in a down pour. 1st morning for me this yr hoping to hear one

About to head to Russell Co. Finally had 3 birds gobbling yesterday and was working towards my first kill when I got called into work. Had to back out and do a long walk around. Gonna try to get between where I think they were roosted up and where they were when I left.

Clear as a bell in Pike right now. About to head out with my 15yo. His first hunt of the year.

Working my last day shift today until May! Good Luck! I'll be back after them tomorrow.

These delta skeeters are fixing to carry me off. I'm regretting not buying a thermacell.

Thought I was in a pretty secluded area, just had a guy walk in on me. Instead of turning around, he informs me he's going to go down just past me. I don't understand some people.

Finally got my the first gobble of the year that responded to some purring ...and of course here comes a slight sprinkle. Think I am just gonna sit the call down and kick back and wait and see if he comes to check me out

Finally a good morning of gobbling. 3 different birds firing off. Set up in a blind with my son (8) behind the gun. Fingers crossed

Well another silent morning time to get ready for church.

This bird is making a fool out of me. Been gobbling his head off since he was on the roost. Heard him pitch down and move away from me. Sat a little while and listened to him to figure out which direction he was headed. Circled around to cut him off. Just got set up again and I swear he just gobbled from the bed if my truck.

Just had a hen come by and hang out for about 15 minutes

They didn't make a complete fool out of me. Finally caught up with one. Turkey in the bag.

Just sat down for the first time today. Gonna sit on this oak flat for a while and see what happens

Just had one come in silent. He barely stuck his head up over the rise and turned around. No shot. All I could see was red, white and blue.

I heard 1 gobble 6 times before I could get close he evidently spontaneously combust ed or something cause he vanished

Busted the hell outta one this morning. Had two gobbling on the limb this morning and they were fired up. Finally one pitched about 80 yards out and blew up when he hit the ground and saw my decoys. Him and the other one put on a show and I let him have it at 45 yards.

Anybody hunting this evening? The sun is finally out, its warm and windy. They better hope they don't gobble today!
